SAS Flight Operations is looking for a skilled Flight Operations Engineer, specialized in the areas of Mass & Balance and Cabin & Emergency Equipment, to join our Flight Operations Engineering team. The team consists of Subject Matter Experts covering flight safety critical areas such as Flight & Cabin Crew Documentation, Cabin & Emergency Equipment, Aircraft Performance, Mass & Balance and ACARS/Datalink. In addition to this, the team is deeply involved in a wide range of exciting and innovative projects related to e.g. fuel efficiency, digitalization, and introduction of new aircraft.

Main activities and work areas for this position

- Provide specialist resources within the area of Mass & Balance, to ensure mass & balance data comply with manufacturer data, stipulated rules, regulations and company policies for all SAS aircraft
- Ensure that cabin & emergency equipment onboard aircraft is in accordance with the standards set by SAS Operations and authority requirements
- Maintain technical-operational manuals, checklists and other instructions for primarily cabin crew and information required for the safe, legal, efficient, economical and uniform operation
- Answer/follow up of occurrence reports related to the responsibility of the position
- Maintain liaison with CAW (Continued Airworthiness) organization in equipment and mass & balance related matters
- Lead/participate in projects as delegated by Head of Engineering and Operational Administration.

Required education and experience

- Minimum of five years of practical experience in Flight Operations Engineering
- Documented knowledge and experience with the field of aircraft mass & balance
- Hold at least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering
- Thorough knowledge of Civil Aviation Regulations, particularly related to aircraft cabin and emergency equipment
- Proficient in English (excellent verbal and writing skills with ability to make reader friendly documents)
- Other preferred education and experience
- Experience from implementing and using lean principles to improve safety, efficiency and cost reduction
- Comprehension of all Scandinavian languages (speech/writing)
- Project management

Working conditions/place

The position is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with six weeks’ vacation per year.

The position is placed at SAS Head Office, Frösundavik, Stockholm.
