Lead Safety Excellence Across the Nordic Aviation Industry

At Avincis, safety is at the heart of everything we do. We are now looking for a Safety Director Nordics to lead and further develop our Safety Management System (SMS) across Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark.

This is a unique opportunity to join the Nordic Senior Leadership Team and play a key role in one of Europe’s leading providers of emergency aviation services.

About the Role
As Safety Director Nordics, you will lead the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety management across Avincis’ Nordic operations.

In addition to your regional leadership responsibilities, you will hold several key regulatory appointments and act as the nominated Safety Manager for:

• AOC (Air Operator Certificate) operations in Sweden
• CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization) in Sweden
• Part-145 Maintenance Organizations across Sweden, Norway, and Finland

As the designated Safety Manager, you will serve as the central focal point for the development, implementation, and oversight of the Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring compliance with EASA regulations and Avincis Group safety standards.

You will work closely with operational, maintenance, airworthiness, and executive leadership teams to ensure a consistent, proactive, and risk-based approach to safety across all Nordic operations.
The role forms part of the Nordic Senior Leadership Team and reports directly to the Managing Director Nordics, while maintaining a functional reporting line to the Group Chief Safety Officer.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Safety Leadership
• Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Nordic Safety Management System (SMS).
• Act as the primary safety advisor to senior management and operational leaders.
• Promote a positive and proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
• Ensure alignment between Nordic operations and Avincis Group safety standards.
• Serve as the approved Safety Manager for Avincis Sweden’s AOC and CAMO approvals, as well as the Part-145 maintenance organizations in Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
• Act as the primary point of contact for aviation authorities on safety management matters related to the Nordic approvals.
• Ensure compliance with EASA Part-ORO, Part-CAMO and Part-145 safety management requirements.

Safety Risk Management
• Oversee hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation activities.
• Facilitate safety investigations and root cause analyses.
• Support and coordinate Management of Change (MoC) processes.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk controls and mitigation actions.

Safety Performance & Reporting
• Coordinate collection, validation, and analysis of safety data across the Nordic region.
• Deliver meaningful safety performance reporting, trends, and insights to management and governance forums.
• Develop and monitor Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs).
• Prepare safety reviews and reports for Safety Review Boards and leadership teams.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Provide functional leadership and guidance to regional safety personnel.
• Collaborate closely with operational managers, accountable managers, and nominated persons.
• Represent Avincis in discussions with aviation authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Facilitate collaboration and best-practice sharing across Nordic operations.

Training & Safety Promotion
• Develop and oversee safety awareness initiatives and safety promotion activities.
• Coordinate SMS, Emergency Response Planning (ERP), and safety training programs.
• Ensure continued engagement and understanding of safety processes throughout the business.

Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a highly credible aviation safety professional with strong leadership capabilities and a passion for continuous improvement.

You are analytical, collaborative, and comfortable influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Most importantly, you are a role model for integrity, professionalism, and safety leadership.

Qualifications & Experience
You will ideally have:
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• At least 2 years of experience within the aviation industry in a safety, operational, airworthiness, maintenance, or compliance-related role.
• Proven experience applying aviation safety standards and operational risk management principles.
Strong knowledge of:
• EASA regulations and aviation compliance frameworks
• Safety Management Systems (SMS)
• Human Factors principles
• Safety investigations and occurrence management
• Compliance monitoring and aviation governance
• Maintenance methods and their practical application within an aviation organization

In addition, the successful candidate must meet the applicable requirements set out in:
• AMC1 ORO.GEN.200(a)(1) Management system och GM1 ORO.GEN.200(a)(1) Management system (COMPETENCIES OF THE SAFETY MANAGER), AMC1 CAMO.A.305(c) Personell Requirements och AMC1 145.A.30(cc) Personell Requirements.

The candidate must also meet the Swedish Transport Agency’s applicable interpretations of the above regulatory requirements.

You will also have:
• A relevant engineering degree, technical aviation qualification, aircraft technician/maintenance engineer qualification, or equivalent experience accepted by the competent authority.
• Formal training related to aircraft operations, maintenance, continuing airworthiness, aviation safety, or safety management.
• Specific training in safety investigations.
• General familiarization training relevant to Avincis operations.
• Part-IS / ISMS training and understanding of information security management requirements.
• Knowledge of relevant aircraft types within Avincis’ scope, such as:
• Fixed wing: Beech 200 series or similar complex multi-engine aircraft
• Helicopters: H145, AW139, AW169, or similar complex multi-engine types
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Reporting Line
