Wyatt linked to new Mediterranean flights venture

The former chief executive of the XL Leisure Group has been linked with a new venture to run flights from Manchester and Gatwick to Mediterranean sun destinations this summer.
Phil Wyatt was said to be “quietly building up another travel empire” in a report in the Sunday Times yesterday.
The paper said Wyatt planned to run fthe flights through Tor Air, a Swedish airline. It also said he was linked with new the travel websites, flytorair,com, skymiddleeast.com
It pointed to a link between flytorair because the domain name for site are owned by Meridian Aviation, which is run by Phil Wyatt’s brother Jim.
Other links were said to be that one of the directors of Tor Air is Philip Lintoott-Clarke, who was chief pilot at XL. Skymiddleeast was said to book flights between Gatwick, Manchester and the Middle East using Tor Air as its operating carrier.
Wyatt was also linked to Viking Airlines AB, which suspended operations in October, through his investment vehicle, Black Peark Investments
