BA -0.84% shares fell as much as 1.7% Tuesday on a report that Japan Airlines detected smoke from a battery pack onboard a Boeing 787 aircraft on the ground at Tokyo’s Narita airport. According to Reuters, maintenance workers discovered smoke and an unidentified liquid coming from the battery about two hours before the plane was scheduled to take off.
