ATR 72-500 600
Är detta flygplan ATR 72-500 600 det bästa man kan sätta in på södra Sverige inrikes, ur operationell och ekonomisk synvinkel.
+1700 tillverkade, är mkt fuel effektiva, opereras dagligen av många bolag även här uppe i norden.
Med tanke på vårt klimat upp till severe icing condition, max sidvinds kompostant etc.
Är 15 min turn around realistiskt inkl. tankning.

This is NOT making ATR a superior aircraft than any other. Would take the CRJ/E195 over ATR any day
Finnair har flugit ATR i många år i samma klimat som Sverige…vad är problemet?
It’s a brilliant aircraft on the short segments. Very fuel efficient and yes it is possible to do very quick turn arounds (usually we wait for the loaders, as it is a pain to load the aircraft).

Yes, the ATR are sensitive to icing, but well trained pilots are perfectly capable of flying in our climate. For more than 7 years on the ATR in Scandinavia, I have only experienced once that we had to land with a reduced flaps setting due to ice build up.
So all in all a great aircraft.
