4 SAS longhaul cancelletions this week!
Delays and cancelletions continue for SAS. This week a total 4 longhaul flights to and from Tokyo and Chicago. The old fleet needs more and more service, and passengers suffer. SAS trues to avoid to pay any compensation….

Regarding punktuality and regularity, here are the figures from the monthly traffic reports for November 2014.
Regularity: Norwegian 99,9% SAS 99,3%
Punktuality: Norwegian 89,1% SAS 92,4%
So contrary to Your statement Norwegian has much better regularty.
Regarding punktuality, SAS is no longer among the leaders in punktuality which they were a couple of years ago, do you know why?

I have no clue, no comments but toughts, why my comment that today’s severe weather(snow) on the US Eastern seabord may have consequences for the air traffic.
If so, further delays are to be expected.

SAS-aflysningerne kommer samtidig med debatten om den af flyselskaberne forhadte 261-forordning. I henhold til forordningen skal passagererne have en kompensation på 600 euro, hvis flyet er blevet forsinket i mere end tre timer, såfremt det ikke er begrundet i ekstraordinære omstændigheder.
Hos SAS mener man, at eksemplet med et motorskifte er udtryk for ekstraordinære omstændigheder.
“Når vi som flyselskab foretager de eftersyn af flyene, som vi er forpligtede til, vil alle tekniske udfordringer være ekstraordinære. Vi ønsker at flyve sikkert og at kunne træffe de rigtige dispositioner, og vi har bestemt ingen interesse i at forsinke vores fly, da det ødelægger vort trafikprogram,” understreger pressechefen.
SAS er især blevet udfordret af de særlige “no cure – no pay” selskaber, der forsøger at hente kompensationer på vegne af flyrejsende, der har været involveret i forsinkelser eller aflysninger. I flere tilfælde har retslige instanser underkendt flyselskaberne fortolkning af, hvad der kan betegnes som ekstraordinære hændelser.
“Det er betænkeligt, at EU-forordningen ikke er mere præcis på dette område,” siger Trine Kromann-Mikkelsen.
And still the competition fills their aircrafts with pax. What does that tell us?
Calle, the difference between these pax and those flying with Cheap Charlies Airlines, is that they are yaken care of. They are rebooked on a flight which will take them to their destination as close to their original arrival time as possible, they get meals and, if necessary, hotel and compansation in accordance with EU regulation. All Airlines will have cancellations occationally, it is how you handle these which shows your quality.
SAS A330/340 fleet is at halvway in it’s life, no more no less. The compatitor with the new fleet, has an extremely bad regularity and catastrofic on time performance.They deny their pax the compansation they are entiteled to. They leave their pax stranded without hell and no costumer service available. That’s crap!
